Questo modello è lungi dall'essere il più conosciuto in Europa ... comprensibilmente, poiché era destinato esclusivamente al mercato americano. La versione americana 560 SL R107 è già un UFO a 4 ruote, ma quando AMG mise le mani sulla bestia, divenne rapidamente un mostro, uno tirato da 385 CV contro i 227 della versione americana di base. Ha attirato molti amanti del brivido sul volante ... come un certo Michael Schumacher che ha acquistato uno dei pochi modelli prodotti da AMG.
